How to deal with N95 mask after use?

The N95 masks purchased by us are basically disposable N95 masks. After use, they should be discarded directly in the covered trash can. The reusable N95 masks/Reusable Respirators approved by the United States are actually gas masks, which can be used freely with filter pads, as long as the filter pads are replaced regularly.

According to the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), when masks are in short supply, disposable N95 masks can also be reused, as long as “maintain the structural and functional integrity of N95 masks, and ensure that the filter material is not physically damaged or “Soil” is fine. Therefore, disposable N95 masks cannot be washed with water or alcohol, because “washing” will destroy the structure of the mask and dirty the filter layer.

However, in terms of germ prevention, it is generally not recommended to reuse disposable masks, because after removing the mask, how to ensure that the inside of the mask is clean and hygienic without being contaminated by germs outside the mask or in the air is a problem.
